Let’s Chat competed at the Arizona Collegiate Venture Competition (ACVC,) this week against 10 other student startup teams from Arizona’s four collegiate entrepreneurship programs: Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, and Grand Canyon University. Up for grabs was a generous $60,000 in cash prizes, scholarships to Draper University, and the coveted Territorial Cup trophy awarded to the top student team.
Let’s Chat took second place in the competition, winning the Gold Level prize of $4500 and a scholarship to Draper University. Draper University, founded in 2012, is the brainchild of Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper. Draper University has created over 250 startups that have raised more than $50 million and been funded by some of the most prestigious investors. Chang Liu will be Let’s Chat’s representative at Draper University this September at their campus in Silicon Valley. The W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University is expanding its partnership with Draper University this fall through a pilot entrepreneurship program. ASU is also partnering with Draper University through its GSV EdTech Accelerator, a premier level incubator for education technology startups.
Chang Liu, recipient of the Draper University Scholarship valued at $35,000, is thrilled to be continuing her education in Silicon Valley, “I am so excited to be able to attend Draper University in the Fall. I am looking forward to learning from the other student entrepreneurs, mentors, and coaches at the program and to advancing Let’s Chat’s business.”
